the ghetto – freddie gibbs

the ghetto.

a classic instrumental and bars to stand behind (tho freedom is a must…)

you can tell he’s speaking his truth. no real glamour to it, just an honest portrayal of poverty and street life in gary, indiana – a city known for two things: the jackson 5… and once being the murder capital of the usa.

a portrait of an america abandoned, this is the effects of capitalism unchecked. industry fled, communities bleed.

people make hard choices. some survive.

lots don’t.
